5 best places for summer on the coast

Summer is coming fast on our beloved Basque Coast and Landaise and with that, our favorite restaurants and bars are reopening little by little. Even if the weather is not yet there, it is always nice to enjoy a good meal watching the ocean or a night drinking glasses on a terrace.

To inaugurate our new website, here is our selection of the 5 best addresses to make the most of the summer in the Basque Country and the Landes:

1 – La Guinguette d’Erromardie, St-Jean-de-Luz

For the 8th consecutive season, the Guiguette d’Erromardieis back on the Erromardie beach, in St Jean-de-Luz.

If you haven’t heard about it yet, this is the perfect spot to watch the waves while eating an amazing meal. Open since 2011, this place – where you only eat outside – opens depending on the weather. Here the cuisine is simple, local and prepared with fresh products – for lunch, we highly recommend the chipirons and ceviches that are all so good. In the evening, the guinguette offers a selection of tapas.

And if you want to be really amazed, go to watch the sunset, the show is fabulous. In high season, we would recommend to book a table (only for lunch) and beware, the restaurant is closed on rainy days. For more information,  check their Facebook page.
